Semu is the name of a group of ancient Egyptian gods of the dead that are documented in the Middle Kingdom .
The serving Sem deities were mentioned in connection with a plant field in which they were staying without having precise knowledge of where the plant field was. The names of the serving Sem deities remained unknown, as their identities were kept secret ( hidden ).
The path of the deceased led him to the plant field where the serving Sem deities stayed.
