Localization of Hessen in Germany

The transmitter Bad Orb is a transmitter of the German radio tower on a hill north of the city of Bad Orb . (The broadcasting system of the Hessian radio station is located south of Bad Orb and is currently not used for radio broadcasts.) A free-standing concrete tower serves as the antenna support.

Originally, the Hessischer Rundfunk planned a filling station here to improve the reception of the programs in the Bad Orb / Wächtersbach area, which is problematic in this area due to the topography of the Kinzig valley . The plan was 89.8 MHz for hr1, 94.7 MHz for hr2, 95.9 MHz for hr3 and 97.0 MHz for hr4 Osthessen. On February 18, 2008, 89.8 MHz finally went on air with the hr-info program , the other frequencies are still unused.
