Radio station Kołowo

The transmitter Kołowo is a radio station of the Polish radio station for the distribution of VHF radio and television programs near Kołowo south of Stettin , which are easily received in northeastern Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania because of the enormous height of the antenna carrier (267 meters) and its proximity to the German border can.

The radio station Kołowo went into operation in 1963 on the site of a former observation tower built in the 1930s and used a 228-meter-high guyed steel framework mast as an antenna carrier . In addition, a 25 meter high tower for directional antennae was built. In 1985 a new, also designed as a guyed transmitter mast with a triangular cross-section, 267 meters high antenna support was erected and in 1989 most of the old transmitter mast was dismantled so that its height is only 61 meters.
