Schlüchtern transmission tower

The Schlüchtern transmission tower is a broadcasting system of the Hessian Broadcasting Corporation on a hill south of Schlüchtern on the "Alte Hohenzeller Straße". A free-standing steel lattice tower serves as the antenna carrier.

Originally the Hessischer Rundfunk planned a filling station here in order to better supply the town of Schlüchtern with the programs of the Hessischer Rundfunk, as the reception situation is difficult due to the basin location in the valley of the Kinzig and there were repeated complaints. The 88.2 MHz for hr1, the 90.5 MHz for hr2, the 88.9 MHz for hr3 and the 91.5 MHz for hr4 Osthessen were planned. However, the Hessischer Rundfunk abandoned these plans, and the frequencies have been used for other purposes since then. You FM went on air in Schluechtern on January 13, 2004, and hr3 and hr-info on August 20, 2007.
