Gubałówka transmission tower

The transmission tower Gubałówka (Polish name: RTON Gubałówka ) is a free-standing steel lattice tower on the Gubałówka above the Polish city of Zakopane . The tower stands at an altitude of 1122  m npm and is 102 meters high. It is used to broadcast FM and television programs . The transmitter went into operation in 1956 as a medium wave transmitter. On December 10, 1958, the television station went into operation, which uses transmitting antennas installed on the roof of the restaurant. In 1961, a 53-meter-high guyed steel truss mast was erected, which, because it was also used as a medium wave transmitter, was insulated from the earth and carried the antennae of the television transmitter on the top. At the beginning of the 1990s, the medium wave transmitter was shut down and in 1999 the guyed steel lattice mast was replaced by today's steel lattice tower.
