Sepp Eberhard

Sepp Eberhard (born February 22, 1917 in Paildorf , today Wolfsberg municipality ; † September 9, 1986 in Wolfsberg ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and civil servant. He was 1956-1959 member of the Federal Council and from 1959 to 1970 Member of the National Council .

Life

Eberhard attended secondary school after elementary school and worked as a miner between 1933 and 1938. He graduated from the Knittelfeld Commercial School as an external specialist and passed an examination in public accounting. After the Second World War he worked between 1945 and 1946 as an employee at the Wolfsberg employment office, after which he took over the position of head of the Wolfsberg community in 1946. From 1946 Eberhard became politically active as the local party chairman of the SPÖ Wolfsberg, and in 1956 he also took over the role of district chairman of the ARBÖ . He represented the SPÖ Carinthia between June 1, 1956 and June 9, 1959 in the Federal Council and was then a member of the National Council from June 9, 1959 to March 31, 1970.

Eberhard had to spend four weeks in prison for political reasons in 1934.
