Serapeum (magazine)
Serapeum: Journal of Library Science, Handschriftenkunde and older literature was a journal of librarianship , which appeared from 1840 to 1870.
It is one of the forerunners of today's magazine for libraries and bibliography .
“The ZfB's predecessors were the Anzeiger für Literatur der Bibliothekwissenschaft (published by Petzholdt, the author of the catechism of library teaching), which appeared from 1856 to 1886, and the Serapeum, which appeared from 1840 to 1870 . The ZfB differs from these predecessors in that it developed into the organ of the entire profession of academic librarians and no longer depended solely on one outstanding editor. "
