The eparchy of Austria and Switzerland ( Serbian - Cyrillic Епархија аустријско-швајцарска ) is an eparchy of the Serbian Orthodox Church .

At the last Bishops' Council of the Serbian Orthodox Patriarchate in November 2010 in Belgrade, it was decided to re-establish this eparchy. To this end, the Serbian Orthodox Church in Austria and the Serbian Orthodox Church in Switzerland (including the municipality of Liechtenstein) will be separated from the pastoral care of the diocese for Central Europe based in Hildesheim-Himmelsthür , and with the Serbian Orthodox Church in Italy , which were previously looked after by the metropolitan area of Zagreb-Ljubljana .

Irinej (Bulović) , currently Bishop of the Eparchy of Bačka in Novi Sad, was appointed administrator and initially bishop in Austria with a ceremony on June 26, 2011 . On May 23, 2014, the Bishops' Assembly of the Serbian Orthodox Church elected Bishop Andrej Ćilerdžić as Bishop of the diocese. Episcopal Vicar for Austria is Archpriest-Stavrophor Krstan Knezevic ( Dormition of the All Saints Theotokos Vienna-Hernals) .

Formal constitutional recognition is still pending, in Austria the “Orthodox Law” had to be amended in 1967 (amendment 2011).

In 2013, the Mission Church in Malta was also assigned to the eparchy .
