Serena from Spoleto

Serena von Spoleto was an early Christian martyr . Her feast day is January 30th .

Saint Savino, Bishop of Spoleto, reports on Serena . According to this tradition, Serena suffered martyrdom around 291 during the persecution of Christians under Emperor Diocletian in Spoleto, Italy .

In 970, Bishop Dietrich I brought the relics of Saint Serena to Metz .

In addition to January 30th, the saint is also commemorated on December 7th with Saint Savino. Serena von Spoleto is particularly revered in Tholey in the Saarland .
