Sergei Dmitrijewitsch Schawlo ( Russian Сергей Дми́триевич Шавло́ ; born September 4, 1956 in Nikopol , Ukrainian SSR ) is a former Soviet football player , football coach and football manager.

Shawlo began his active career as a football player in 1974 in what was then the Latvian SSR , first with Elektron Riga, then with FK Daugava Riga. In 1977 he moved to Spartak Moscow and became Soviet champions with this team in 1979. In 1986 he moved to Torpedo Moscow and won the Soviet Cup with this team in the same year .

For the Soviet national team , Shawlo played 19 games between 1979 and 1985, he also made five appearances in the Soviet Olympic team and won the bronze medal with this team at the 1980 Olympics in Moscow , during this tournament he scored in the 8-0 victory of his team against the Cuban team scored a goal.

In 1987 Schawlo was one of the first Soviet football players to move abroad to Rapid Vienna , and with this team he became Austrian champions in 1988. In the following years Schawlo played for various clubs in Austria and ended his active career in 1997 at FC Laxenburg.

In the following years Schawlo was initially active in the coaching staff of a number of Austrian and Russian clubs, in 2005 he became General Director of Spartak Moscow and remained in this position until 2008.
