Sergei Istomin (weightlifter)
Sergei Istomin (born January 24, 1986 in Tschimkent ) is a Kazakh weightlifter .
Career
Istomin reached fourth place in a duel at the Asian Championships in 2005 and won bronze in the snatch in the class up to 94 kg. In 2006 he was suspended for a doping violation . At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, he reached seventh place. In 2009 Istomin was able to win the title at the Asian Championships . At the 2010 World Championships he was sixth and at the Asian Games in the same year he won the bronze medal. In 2011 he was third at the Asian Championships and ninth at the World Championships .
