Serial ATA International Organization

The Serial ATA International Organization ( SATA-IO for short ) is an independent non-profit organization that emerged in July 2004 from the Serial ATA Working Group . The predecessor organization, the Serial ATA Working Group, developed the first version of the Serial ATA specification. In 2005 the SATA-IO published the second revision of the SATA specification and is currently developing the third revision. It also offers companies support in implementing the specifications. It is based in Beaverton, Oregon .

The organization has many members, including the leading companies

The fourth revision of Serial ATA, which is currently under development, can already be viewed by members. Other companies have not yet had the opportunity to inspect the preliminary specification.
