Alfredo Serrai

Alfredo Serrai (born November 20, 1932 ) is an Italian librarian and library scholar .

Serrai has directed libraries known as a librarian. He was director of the Biblioteca Casanatense from 1976 to 1979 and of the Roman university library Biblioteca Alessandrina from 1979 to 1980. He then became professor of library studies at the University of Rome «La Sapienza» with a focus on bibliography and library history . He has presented numerous publications in these areas. The eleven-volume "History of Bibliography" ( Storia della bibliografia , Bulzoni Editore, Roma 1988–2001) can be regarded as his main work .
