David Seven Deers

David Seven Deers (* 1957 in Vancouver ) is a Canadian Indian sculptor. He lives with his German-born wife, the writer Sanna Seven Deers , near Greenwood , British Columbia , Canada .

Seven Deers belongs to the Coast Salish Skwah Stó: lō Halkomelem tribe of British Columbia. He attended the Vancouver School of Art from 1974 . In 1978 he traveled to Europe for the first time.

In Canada, the United States, and Western Europe, he is a well-known representative of Native American art who has developed his own modern style. In 1995 he was invited to Hamburg and Munich to create totem poles at the respective ethnological museums . He also worked for the Museum für Völkerkunde Hamburg as co-curator of the exhibition on the Indian cultures of North America.
