Seventeen Seconds is the second studio album by the English band The Cure . It was released on Fiction Records in April 1980 .

history

Due to the small budget of between £ 2,000 and £ 3,000, the album was recorded in just seven days with producer Mike Hedges . Many pieces are keyboard-dominated, have a rather minimalistic singing with a lot of reverb. A Forest , in particular, which was released as a single developed into a hit and has been covered many times.

criticism

On the Allmusic.com website , the reviewer gave it three out of five stars. He wrote that the album was a subtle, balanced work that "grows with the listener over time".
