Ševko Omerbašić

Ševko Omerbašić (born June 9, 1945 in Ustikolina near Foča , SR Bosnia and Herzegovina , SFR Yugoslavia , today in Bosnia and Herzegovina ) is an Islamic theologian. He received his education at the Gazi Husrev-Beg - Madresa (Islamic School) in Sarajevo . He is the Mufti of Zagreb and Grand Mufti (i.e. the highest Muslim authority) of Croatia.

He was one of the 138 signatories of the open letter a common word between us and you ( Engl. A Common Word Between Us and You ), the personalities of Islam to "leaders of Christian churches everywhere" (Engl. "Leaders of Christian Churches, everywhere ... ”) (October 13, 2007).
