Shōkichi Natsui ( Japanese 夏 井 昇 吉 , Natsui Shōkichi ; born October 10, 1925 ; died September 13, 2006 ) was a Japanese judoka . In 1956 he was the first judo world champion.

Shōkichi Natsui finished third in the Japanese championships in 1954. The following year he reached the final and finished second behind Yoshihiko Yoshimatsu .

On May 3, 1956, the first World Judo Championships were held in Tokyo . Natsui defeated the Dane Kai Johannsen in his first fight , the British Richard Bowen in the quarterfinals and the French Henri Courtine in the semifinals . In the final, the two Japanese Natsui and Yoshimatsu met each other and Natsui won the title.

1957 fought in the final of the Japanese championships Shōkichi Natsui and Kōji Sone against each other and Natsui also won this title.
