Shūji Kusano ( Japanese 草野 修治 , Kusano Shūji ; born April 2, 1970 in Fukushima Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Kusano learned to play soccer on the school team at Taira Technical High School and the university team at Sendai University . He signed his first contract with Yokohama Flügels in 1993 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . In 1993 he won the Kaiser Cup with the club . In June 1994 he moved to the second division side Kashiwa Reysol . In 1994 he was runner-up with the club in the Japan Football League and rose to the J1 League. For the club, he completed 10 first division games. In 1996 he moved to the second division Brummell Sendai . For the club he completed 25 games. At the end of 1997 he ended his career as a football player.
