The Shackleton Icefalls are a large glacial break in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It is located on the south side of Mount Darwin and Mount Mills in the upper section of the Beardmore Glacier .
The ice falls were discovered by participants in the Nimrod expedition (1907–1909) and named after the expedition leader, the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton (1874–1922).
