Shaho Andalibi

Shaho Andalibi ( Persian شاهو عندلیبی Shāho Andalībī ; * 1974 in Sanandaj ) is an Iranian - Kurdish musician. His musical skills include the nay and singing.

Life

Shaho Andalibi was born in 1974 in Sanandaj , Kurdistan Province in Iran . His father, Iraj Andalibi, taught him Kurdish music, melodies and modes (maqams) at the age of four. He learned the Persian nay from his cousin Jamshid Andalibi , who himself has also worked in various music projects and ensembles. He received lessons in singing technique from Mohammad-Resa Schadscharian , improvisation and the organization of group performances from Majid Derakhshani .

Shaho graduated from the Tehran University of Art ( Tehran University of Art ) in 2007 with a focus on playing Iranian musical instruments. In over 50 performances all over the world he has appeared as an outstanding artist of his profession, accompanied by personalities such as the Grand Master Mohammad-Resa Shajarian at Ava and Shahnaz Ensemble, the master Sima Bina in a big concert in Armenia and many other Iranian groups such as Mah -Banoo, Khorshid, Mah, Shams, Mawlana Ensemble and international ensembles such as the Netherlands Philharmonic

Shaho has contributed to the production of over 40 music albums, such as Morghe Khoskhan, Rendane Mast and Gole Sib, as a group player as well as in solo performances. In 2016 he founded the Andalib Music Academy in Toronto. He had a successful tour with the Andalib Ensemble at the Sounds of Persia in Tirgan Festival and further appearances in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. In 2019 he also won the "Aga Khan Music Award".
