Shailendra Kumar Upadhyaya
Shailendra Kumar Upadhyaya (born September 17, 1929 in Kurnuwl , Benares , India ; † May 9, 2011 on Mount Everest , Nepal ; also: Upadhyay ) was a Nepalese politician .
Upadhyay was Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations in New York from 1972 to 1978 and Foreign Minister of Nepal from 1986 to 1990.
He died on May 9, 2011 while attempting to climb Mount Everest . He wanted to break the age record of climbing as the oldest person.
