Johann Friedrich Callisen

Johann Friedrich Leonhard Callisen (born August 2, 1775 in Zarpen ; † March 26, 1864 ) was a German Protestant clergyman and politician in the Duchy of Holstein . He represented the clergy as a member of the Holstein Assembly of Estates .

Life

After attending school, Callisen enrolled at the Faculty of Theology and began his career in the service of the Church after successfully completing his studies. In 1811 he rose to provost in Rendsburg .

Later he was appointed as a member of the clergy in the Holstein assembly of estates. In this he represented German-minded positions of a united Schleswig-Holstein . In this spirit he also delivered the altar sermon for the opening of the United Estates Assembly on April 3, 1848 in the garrison church of Rendsburg, in which he greeted the Schleswig-Holstein uprising with the words: “A strong prayer for the happy success of our just cause and our weapons. "

Callisen was the cousin of the general superintendent Christian Friedrich Callisen . On February 18, 1808 he married Dorothea Maria Römer. The son Leonhard Friedrich Christian Callisen comes from the marriage .

On July 31, 1815 he was awarded the Dannebrogorden (knight).
