Zarpen is a municipality in the Stormarn district in Schleswig-Holstein . Dahmsdorf is in the municipality.

Zarpen is due to the Heilsau . In Zarpen the Ellerbek flows into the Heilsau.
history
Zarpen was first mentioned in a document in 1189. The church was founded in 1221 by the Reinfeld monastery in Zarpen. Around 1265, Zarpen was granted the law of Luebi as a city . The floor plan also shows today that a central location in the area of the monastery land was planned. In 1473, however, after a settlement with the abbot of the monastery, the Danish King Christian I enforced that the Luebian law, which was conducive to the independent development of communities, was replaced by the more favorable Holsten law . So Zarpen was a city until the 15th century; the center function but was already in the Middle Ages from Zarpen to the southerly Reinfeld over.
The population is mainly Evangelical Lutheran .
Dahmsdorf
Dahmsdorf is first mentioned as Adamestorpe in 1327. The village has belonged to the parish of Zarpen since the Middle Ages. After dissolution of the Cistercian - Reinfeld Abbey Dahmsdorf came to the old plönischen Office Reinfeld , from 1867 to the parish Bailiwick district Reinfeld . In the 19th century Dahmsdorf consisted of four full hooves , one quarter hoof , one twelfth hoof and two leaseholds; at that time it had just under 130 inhabitants. With the introduction of the Prussian municipal constitution , Dahmsdorf came to the Zarpen district in 1889 . Since 1948 it has belonged to the Zarpen office and since 1972 to the Nordstormarn office .
Incorporations
On January 1, 1975 Dahmsdorf was incorporated into Zarpen with 79 residents.

Community representation
Of the 13 seats in the municipal council has the Wählergemeinschaft PFCs since the local elections on May 26, 2013 five seats, the SPD also has five seats and the CDU three seats. The turnout was 63%.
After the local elections on May 6, 2018, with a turnout of 61%, the distribution of the council seats among the parties has not changed.
