About this picture

Delingsdorf ( Low German Deinsdorp ) is a municipality in the Stormarn district in Schleswig-Holstein .

geography

The community lies between the cities of Ahrensburg and Bargteheide .

history

Delingsdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1327 when Count Johann der Milde von Holstein and Stormarn exchanged land with Reinfeld Abbey. A “Dedelmestorpe” is also mentioned in the boundary description of the area. The village often changes its name. The place name probably originated from a personal name "Dedelow", as it was common at the time of the Frankish settlement in the 12th and 13th centuries. In 1389 Delingsdorf became liable to the Hamburg cathedral chapter . In 1475 it was bought by the Tremsbüttel noble family Heest. The planned layout of an anger village can be seen on the oldest Delingsdorf land map from 1774 . The school kate, today the Delingsdorf kindergarten, as well as the “Bauernteich”, which still exists today, are shown on the mentioned hall cate.

In the Middle Ages, the Delingsdorf area was mainly covered by forest and quarry forest. Over time, more and more forest was cleared. 600 years after it was first mentioned in a document, the Delingsdorf forest had disappeared.

In 1855 the population was 320 and the school had 80 students. There were full, half, third and quarter hoofed (landowners) resident.

Delingsdorf belonged to the lordly office of Tremsbüttel and came in 1867 as a rural community to the parish vogtei Bargteheide , in 1889 to the district of Bargteheide . Since the municipal reform after the Second World War, Delingsdorf has belonged to the Bargteheide-Land office .

The two world wars and their consequences brought about great changes for Delingsdorf. Many refugees and bombed-out Hamburgers needed shelter. If the population was 426 in 1936, it jumped to 1,026 after the end of the Second World War. The village changed from a farming village to a residential community in the Hamburg metropolitan region - also thanks to the favorable transport links .
