geography

The community is east of Bargteheide .

history

Hammoor was first mentioned in a document in 1263. The name of the noble family van Homore from Stormarn derives from the place name that settled there in the 14th century. Hammoor later came to the Tremsbüttel estate , with which it was sold to the Duke of Saxony-Lauenburg in 1475 . In 1571 the village came under the administration of the dukes of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf and from then on belonged to the lordly office of Tremsbüttel.

After the annexation of Schleswig-Holstein by Prussia in 1867, Hammoor was assigned to the newly formed Stormarn district . With the introduction of the districts by the Prussian municipal constitution , Hammoor belonged to the district of Bargteheide and since 1948 to the district of Bargteheide-Land .

In 1964 Gerkenfelde was transferred from Tremsbüttel to Hammoor.

Of the eleven seats in the municipal council, the constituency AWH has had seven seats since the 2008 local elections and the CDU four.

Mayor is Andreas Jendrijewski.
