Bargfeld-Stegen is a municipality in the Stormarn district in Schleswig-Holstein .

geography

Bargfeld-Stegen is located northeast of Hamburg, between the communities Nahe and Elmenhorst on Landesstraße 82. The community includes the communities Bargfeld-Rögen, Bornhorst, Gräberkate, Hartwigsahl, Schierenhorst and Viertbruch as well as the Stegen estate.

history

The village of Bargfeld was first mentioned in a document in 1195 . In the document, which no longer exists today, Adolph III. von Schauenburg , Count of Wagrien, Stormarn and Holstein , after a lost legal dispute with the canons of the Hamburg Chapel of St. Nicholas , announced, among other things, that a tenth of a village called Berchfelde would be used to finance the canons in the future. However, this promise was never kept or only to a limited extent.

Between Stegen and Sülfeld , the “new ditch” was built between 1526 and 1529 for the first navigable connection between Hamburg and Lübeck as part of the Alster-Beste Canal . Stegen was spun off from Gut Stegen in 1872 together with Bornhorst and Schierenhorst and formed an independent community with them. The part remaining on the estate became the estate district. When the Prussian administrative districts were founded, Bargfeld and Stegen became part of the Jersbek district in 1889. The community of Bargfeld-Stegen was created in 1928 as a merger of the two communities with the manor district of Stegen.

After the dissolution of the administrative districts after the Second World War , Bargfeld-Stegen came to the Bargteheide office, which has been called the Bargteheide-Land office since the town of Bargteheide left . With the construction of new residential areas, the agricultural community changed to a residential suburb of Hamburg. The town center was completely redeveloped in the second half of the 1980s.

Since 1971 Bargfeld-Stegen has formed a joint Evangelical Lutheran parish with Elmenhorst and Nienwohld .

On January 1, 1978 the place Hartwigsahl, which previously belonged to the municipality of Jersbek , was incorporated.

Municipal council

Of the 17 seats in the municipal council, the CDU and SPD have had six seats since the 2018 local elections, and the FDP has five seats. The voter community WVB did not run for the 2018 local elections after having been represented with two to three seats in the previous legislatures.

Mayor is Andreas Gerckens (CDU).

Buildings

• The large cottage from Buchwaldt's poor house is still preserved today, which was built in 1675 by Hans-Adolph v. Buchwaldt was built and is a listed building.
