About this picture

Badendorf ( Low German Badendörp ) is a municipality in the district Stormarn in Schleswig-Holstein . In addition to Badendorf, the municipality also includes the Langenjahren district.

history

The name of the place is probably derived from the knight Bado, who is said to have expelled the Wends from this area around 1150 . The village itself was first mentioned in 1302 when it was sold to Reinfeld Monastery .

After the abbey was dissolved in 1583, Badendorf was administered from the old Reinfeld office. In Prussian times the Zarpen district came into being in 1889 , which was converted into the Zarpen district in 1948. Since the new municipal regulation in 1972, the place has belonged to the new Nordstormarn office .
