Shajapur is a city ( Nagar Palika Parishad ) in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh .
Shajapur is the administrative seat of the district of the same name . It is located 115 km west of the city of Bhopal and 57 km northeast of Ujjain on the national highway NH 3 .
The city had 69,263 inhabitants at the 2011 census.
