Shamoke

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shamoke , also Sha Moke or Shamo Ke ( Chinese  沙摩柯 ) was a Shu Han general at the time of the Three Kingdoms in ancient China.

Originally a leader of the barbaric Mang tribe ( belonging to the Miao ), he submitted to the warlord Liu Bei in 213 . While little is known about his life in historiography , his figure in the story of the Three Kingdoms is given a clearer profile by Luo Guanzhong . His appearance is described as follows: “His face was painted red as if spattered with blood, and his eyes were green and large. As he threw himself on Gan Ning's troops, he was brandishing an iron club with spiked bones and two bows around his belt. It was a terrible sight. "

In the next section, he kills the ailing Wu General Gan Ning with an arrow in the back of his head. Later in the battle, he is surrounded by flames and killed by Wu General Zhou Tai .

Historically, however, it is known that Shamoke could not have killed Gan Ning.
