Shamsul Azhar Abbas is a Malaysian manager .

Life

Abbas studied political science at the Science University Malaysia and energy economics at the University of Pennsylvania and at the IFP Énergies nouvelles (IFPEN) in Rueil-Malmaison near Paris. Abbas has headed the Malaysian company Petronas as CEO alongside chairman Mohd Hassan Marican since 2010 . Previously, he headed the Malaysian subsidiary Malaysia International Shipping Corporation (MISC). Abbas said in 2012 that he saw profit opportunities in Canada in particular .
