The Shark Aero UL is an ultra-light sport aircraft from the Slovak manufacturer Shark Aero .

history

At the beginning of 2007, Vladimir Pekar (owner of a Slovak aircraft parts company) and the Czech aircraft developer Jaroslav Dostal decided to develop a fast sports UL. Mold making began at the beginning of 2008 and a mockup was presented at Aero Friedrichshafen in 2009 . On August 19, 2009 the first flight took place in Břeclav with Radek Škvařil as pilot. In autumn 2010 there were more than a dozen orders from Slovakia.

In July 2012, the aircraft passed the official Light Aircraft Association (LAA) stress test.

construction

The Shark Aero UL is a two - seater low - wing aircraft with retractable landing gear . The two 50 l tanks for the Rotax 912 S engine are housed in the wings and allow a range of 1300 km.
