Sheep Island is a small island off the coast of Pembrokeshire in Wales .

The island connects directly to the south coast of the headland of Angle and forms its southwesternmost tip. It rises to 17 m above sea level . The island is part of the Lower Old Red Sandstone Belt, which stretches from the Milford Haven Waterway northwest to Dale and below sea level to Skokholm , so it is characterized by the intensely red rocks. The island is uninhabited.
history
In April 1943, a major shipwreck occurred near the island with the warships Landing Craft Gun 15 and LCG 16 , which got into distress on the way to Holyhead after an unfinished conversion in Belfast , killing 147 men.
