The Sheep Point ( English for sheep headland ) is a headland on the north coast of South Georgia in the South Atlantic . It is located on the south bank of Cook Bay and marks the south side of the entrance to Prince Olav Harbor on the one hand and the north side of the entrance to Carl Passage on the other .
The headland's name appears for the first time on maps made by British Discovery Investigations scientists surveying Prince Olav Harbor in 1929. It is possible that the name goes back to an earlier point in time.
