The Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (end of 2012, Emirates Road ) (E 311, شارع إ 311) is a highway in the United Arab Emirates .

The road begins west of Dubai in Jebel Ali and touches Dubai's suburbs as well as Dubai Airport . In the further course it leads through the northern emirates Sharjah , Ajman and Umm al-Qaiwain and finally ends shortly before Ra's al-Khaimah on the E11.

Originally, it was designed to direct heavy goods traffic around downtown Dubai.

The road around Dubai has 16 lanes in sections, otherwise it has 6 lanes and is continuously illuminated at night.

In the city of Dubai, Emirates Road is the most dangerous road in the UAE, with 19 fatalities in the first half of 2006 alone.
