Shelley Levinson

Shelley Levinson (born July 13, 1943 ) is an American film director and producer , who was awarded an Oscar in 1982 for her short film Violet .

Life

In 1978 Levinson attended the Center for Advanced Film Studies, American Film Institute, an AFI Private Conservatory, one of the best film schools in the world, number 1 according to the Hollywood Reporter .

Her first film Violet , directed and produced by Levinson, won an Oscar in the category “Best Short Film” at the 1982 Academy Awards , which she received together with Paul Kemp . Didi Conn plays the main role of Violet, who has to live with a disfiguring scar on her face due to an accident in her teenage years, expects help from a preacher, but has to realize that only she can help herself.

In 1985 Levison directed an episode of Tales from the Dark World and directed the short drama Sex Education starring Libby Aubrey and Chris Mulkey the following year . This was followed by directing two episodes of the television series Twilight Zone and in 1989 directing an episode of the television series Falcon Crest , in which Jane Wyman played the winery owner Angela Gioberti Channing.
