The Shelter Cove (English for refuge ) is a small bay in the north of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located on the Trinity Peninsula between Chapel Hill and Church Point on the north bank of the Prince Gustav Canal .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it descriptively in 1964 because it is the only place on the coast that offers protection from the prevailing southwest winds.
