The Shepherd Dome is a low and domed mountain on the Walgreen Coast of West Antarctic Ellsworthland . In the southern part of the Hudson Mountains, it rises 6 km southwest of Mount Manthe on the northern flank of the Pine Island Glacier .
Aerial photographs of the US American Operation Highjump (1946–1947) were used to map it. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after Donald C. Shepherd, an ionospheric physicist at Byrd Station in 1967.
