Irene Gonzaga Sarmento

Irene Gonzaga Sarmento (born April 2, 1986 in Manatuto , Bobonaro , East Timor ) is an East Timorese politician. She is a member of the Kmanek Haburas Unidade Nasional Timor Oan (KHUNTO).

Career

Sarmento finished secondary school.

In the parliamentary elections in 2012 at number 12 and in 2017 at number 6 on the electoral list of the KHUNTO, Sarmento failed and also in the following year, in the early elections on May 12, she just missed entry into parliament on list number 36 of the Aliança para Mudança e Progresso (AMP), the joint list of CNRT , PLP and KHUNTO. At the end of June, however, Sarmento moved into parliament for members who gave up their seat for government office. She is a member of the parliamentary commission for infrastructure (commission E).
