Shigeo Tokuda

Shigeo Tokuda ( Japanese 徳 田 重 男 , born August 18, 1934 in Chūō (Tokyo) ) is the stage name of a Japanese adult actor who gained international attention after being featured on CNN , Time and others.

Live and act

Until his retirement, Tokuda worked in a travel agency. After that, he said he had nothing more to do and built a second life for himself with the porn films. For him, sexuality is a form of interpersonal communication, he said during an interview, and he would like to make his own film, but he is afraid that nobody will be interested in it.

Japan is the oldest society in the world

By 2008, Tokuda appeared in about 350 porn films . In his age group he is a "superstar", according to his producer at Ruby Productions , which have now specialized in porn films for the elderly. As the world's oldest society, age sexuality is a not unimportant topic in Japan.

When asked how he got involved in pornographic films, Tokuda said that he would have been too shy to buy a pornographic film that he dearly wanted from one of the usual video stores. Therefore, he went straight to the production company, bought the film there and, after becoming a frequent customer there, was approached by the director. Porn with older people would have become popular if he didn't want to join. He refused spontaneously because he could never have imagined something like that. But after getting to know the director a little better and liking his idea and the intent behind it, he agreed after two or three years.

Motives for the activity

In an extensive interview with Vice Magazine , Tokuda said that he had always liked to play with his roles . He doesn't make these films because he can have sex with someone. Instead, it tempts him to slip into different roles, even though he cannot boast any acting skills. Because of this, most of the films in which he is involved also have real actions and he sometimes also has non-sexual roles.

Private

Tokuda is married with two children and one grandson.

Tokuda kept his maiden name to himself in order to prevent his wife and children from finding out about his secondary employment. One day his daughter discovered his secret. When his wife found out about it, she accepted it and asked no questions.
