Shigeyama Sennojō
Shigeyama Sennojō ( Japanese 茂山 千 之 丞 , actually Shigeyama Masatsugu ( 茂山 政 次 ); * October 14, 1923 , † December 4, 2010 ) was a Japanese Kyōgen actor.
Shigeyama Sennojō is considered to be one of the most important representatives of traditional Japanese theater in modern times. He was the second son of Shigeyama Sensaku III. and member of the Shigeyama family, who have represented the Kyōgen theater for over 400 years. The family has its own school, the Kyōgenkata-Ōkura-Schule (Ōkura-ryū) in Kyoto .
