Shijian-11-03 (German: Exercise 11-03) is a Chinese experimental satellite.
history
Developed by China Spacesat Co. Ltd under the direction of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), the satellite was launched on July 6, 2011 at 04:28 UTC by a two-stage Long March 2C launcher from the Jiuquan launch site in Gansu Province in placed in low earth orbit. It should serve experimental scientific and engineering purposes as well as carry out measurement and communication tasks, whereby western observers consider it an experimental early warning satellite. The predecessors Shijian-11-01 (2009-061A) and Shijian-12 (2010-027A) were launched on November 12, 2009 and June 15, 2010; Shijian 11-02 only started after Shijian 11-03.
