The Shimantan Reservoir ( Chinese 石 漫滩 水库 , Pinyin Shímàntān shuǐkù ) is an artificial lake in the People's Republic of China in the south of Wugang , Pingdingshan in Henan Province .
On August 7, 1975, the dam broke as a result of Typhoon Nina (details: see Banqiao Dam ).
