Shinile (also Shinille , Shenile , Shinnelie ; Italian Scenele , Cinile , Ghiniele ) is a place in the Somali region of Ethiopia and the capital of the woreda Shinile of the same name and the Shinile zone . The first station of the Addis Ababa-Djibouti railway north of Dire Dawa is in Shinile.

According to the Central Statistics Agency of Ethiopia for 2005, Shinile had 13,132 inhabitants. In 1997, 96.58% of the 8,802 inhabitants were Somali , 1.76% Oromo and 1.5% Amhars .
