Car Bomb is an American experimental metal / mathcore band from New York .

history

The members of Car Bomb first met around 2000 when Greg Kubaki and Michael Dafferner, who previously played in the metal and hardcore punk band Neck, met Elliot Hoffman and Jon Modell in a rehearsal room under the Rockville Center in New York the band Spooge shared. Over time, a great friendship developed between the bands. In 2002, Modell, who was not satisfied with his previous works, decided to make music with Kubaki and Dafferner in a side project. Over time this project became a real band, Car Bomb. Serious recordings began in 2004. The debut album Centralia , named after the abandoned city in Pennsylvania, was released on February 6, 2007 via Relapse Records .

In 2009 Car Bomb was on tour with the bands Gojira and The Chariot .

The album w ^ w ^^ w ^ w was released in September 2012, followed by Meta in 2016 . In 2019 the fourth studio album Mordial was released .

style

The polyrhythmic music Car Bombs is often compared to the experimental approach of groups such as Meshuggah , The Dillinger Escape Plan , Coalesce or The Locust .
