Shinsuke Yamanaka ( Jap. 山中慎介 , Yamanaka Shinsuke * 11. October 1982 in Konan , Shiga Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese professional boxer and former world champion of the WBC in bantamweight .

Among other things, he was ranked 9th in the pound-for-pound ranking by Ring Magazine and took 1st place in the "Ranking of the best bantamweights".

Professional career

In 2006, Yamanaka played three fights, including his debut fight, which he won by unanimous decision. His second fight ended in a draw. In 2009 he beat Yuta Uetani (9-0-1), among others. In 2010 he won the Japanese championship belt against Mikio Yasuda and defended it in 2011 against Ryosuke Iwasa (8-0-0).

The following year he became WBC world champion with a points win over the Mexican Christian Esquivel (24-2). He has defended this title twelve times against Wachtang Dartschinjan (37-4), Tomás Rojas (39-13), Malcolm Tuñacao (32-2), Jose Nieves (22-2), Alberto Guevara (18-1), Stephane Jamoye (25-4), Suriyan Kaikanha (37-5), Diego Santillan (23-0), Anselmo Moreno (35-3), Liborio Solís (23-3), again Anselmo Moreno (36-4) and Carlos Carlson ( 22-1).
