Coordinates: 33 ° 21 ′ S , 116 ° 9 ′ E The Shire of Collie is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . The area is 1711 km² and has about 8800 inhabitants (2016).
Collie is located in the southwest of the state on the Collie River about 160 kilometers south of the capital Perth . The headquarters of the Shire Council is in the town of Collie, where about 7200 inhabitants live (2016).

The Collie Council has eleven members. They are elected by all residents of the Shire. Collie is not divided into districts. The chairman of the council (Shire President) is also recruited from among the councilors.
