Coordinates: 33 ° 32 ′ S , 118 ° 9 ′ E The Shire of Kent is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . The area is 5,634 km² and has about 550 inhabitants (2016).
Kent is located in the southeast of the state about 280 kilometers southeast of the capital Perth . The seat of the Shire Council is in the village of Nyabing, where about 300 residents live (2016).

The Kent Council has eight members. They are elected by all residents of the LGA. Kent is not divided into districts. The Council Chairman and Shire President are also recruited from among the Councilor.
