Coordinates: 32 ° 56 ′ S , 117 ° 10 ′ E The Shire of Narrogin is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . The area is 1632 km² and has over 5000 inhabitants.
Narrogin Shire is located in the southeast of the state in the western Australian "wheat belt" about 180 kilometers southeast of the capital Perth . The Shire Council is based in the city of Narrogin , which until 2016 formed the independent LGA Narrogin Town . The city of Narrogin has around 4200 inhabitants (2016). The surrounding Shire had only 875 inhabitants (2011) before the merger.

The Narrogin Council has seven members. They are elected by all residents of the LGA. Narrogin Shire is not subdivided into districts. The Council Chairman and Shire President are also recruited from among the Councilor.
