Coordinates: 31 ° 5 ′ S , 116 ° 27 ′ E The Shire of Victoria Plains is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . The area is 2569 km² and has about 900 inhabitants (2016).
Victoria Plains is located in the western Australian "wheat belt" in the west of the state about 110 kilometers northeast of the capital Perth . The seat of the Shire Council is in the village of Calingiri, where about 200 residents live (2016). The monastery in New Norcia is well known for tourism .

The Victoria Plains Council has nine members. The councilors are elected by the residents of the four wards (three from the West and two each from the East, South and Central Ward). The Council Chairman and Shire President are also recruited from among the Councilor.
