Shirley Anne Field

Shirley Anne Field (* 27. June 1938 in Bolton , Lancashire , United Kingdom as Shirley Broadbent ) is a British actress .

Shirley and her brother grew up in an orphanage. Before Shirley got into film, the former Miss London had herself photographed for pin-up magazines. In her first films she was cast as a decorative accessory due to her beauty. Michael Powell's film Eyes of Fear helped her breakthrough in 1960. Until 1963 she worked for well-known people in British cinema, such as B. the actors Laurence Olivier and Oliver Reed and the directors Tony Richardson and Joseph Losey . A trip to Hollywood was disappointing, and the British films during this period were also rather second-rate.

In the 1970s, Shirley turned to stage acting. She only returned to the film business in 1985, and she did so very successfully. After working with Ken Russell , she moved back to America, where she acted in a daily soap (California clan).
